The purpose of life can be a confusing concept for anyone to attempt to wrap their mind around. It is one of those concepts that keep one up at night nervously worrying about the unknown questions that can never truly be answered, but interpreted by oneself. Although many different factors contribute to the purpose of life the only way to ever truly be happy is to find a good balance of each. Ikigai is the perfect balance of what you love, what you are good at, what you can be paid for, and what the world needs, although finding the perfect ikigai can be difficult it is worth it. Losing one’s purpose can have a detrimental effect, but how can you lose your purpose when you do not know what it is in the first place? Thats just the thing, in life, there doesn’t have to be a purpose to find, only a purpose to be created. First, find what makes you jump out of bed in the morning. Finding your ikigai is a mixture of what you’re good at and what you love doing. Humans are prone to objects and activities they lust over such as money and fame, but dissatisfaction often follows these relentless pursuits. This often leads to a new focus on an idea bigger then oneself involving more then just material wealth. Everyone has their own interests and it is important to be able to recognize these individual interests. Once they have been recognized pursue them, disregard the many obstacles that may be holding you back, like what others might think, or how they may not be contributing to a materialist goal such as wealth. Instead pursue these interests and become a master of them; as mastery is achieved you will find that there is a way to work what your passionate about into the materialistic gaol of something such as wealth.
