Ignorance and unbalance is undermined by honour and certainty of the team. “Playing the leadership role, Aragorn tells Theoden to ride out with them” and meet them (Gandalf and the warriors of Rohan) for Rohan, for his people. Theoden restores honour in himself as King of Rohan at the wearing grasp of defeat by riding out with Aragorn, “Yes, The Horn of Helm Hammerhand will sound in the deep, one last time!”. Regardless of the way individuals are parted from one another, they cleverly use their situations as a way to restore honour in oneself. Coming to realize themselves as Aragorn, Son of Arathorn and Theoden, King of Rohan, they both take leadership of a group in several scenes, having a big impact of what is foreshadowed in the plot. …show more content…

Towards the end of the movie, Aragorn is the one of the nine that takes the majority of the leadership role, as Gandalf is gone and Theoden is about to accept defeat. Armies of Isengard have the upperhand, since they have already planned out their attack and what technology to use and being cooperative as one giant group, which Helm’s Deep was not. Also, the characters have a darker personality and they all have something to hide: Hrothgar has had an affair with Grendel’s mother with whom he conceived the monster, Kyra (Hrothgar’s ‘new’ daughter) has killed her husband and Roland (the 1999’s version of Unferth) is actually in love with Kyra; but the darkest character of all is actually Beowulf. Beowulf is described as a great and beloved…

Murr, whose article is pointedly focused on ideas of order and disorder in Grendel, views the battle between Grendel and Beowulf the culmination of the back and forth between order and disorder seen in the novel. Neither is inherently stronger than the opposition, and whoever emerges victorious from the melee does so purely on a matter of chance. As Murr states, “order threatens disorder as much as disorder unhinges order” (101). When the two meet, they become caught in a stalemate. The pairs, both of Grendel and Beowulf and disorder and order, are trapped head to head, and the only way for one to win over the other is to get lucky.…
