Case Facts and Situation Analysis
Iggy’s Bread of the world was started in 1994 by Igor and Ludmilla Ivanovic in Watertown, Massachusetts. The couple was very passionate for restaurant business. Their mission was to deliver bread of highest quality to their customers while maintaining high standards of service and integrity. They sold-off their last bakery business to their partners as they wanted to use organic ingredients and did not want to compromise on the quality even though if it was expensive. The employees and the working culture were their strengths. They did everything to engage their employees and involved them with every aspect of the business. It was a family run business and Nikola, Igor’s brother holding a few key positions.

Weightage to the criteria is assigned according to their importance for the company.
Option 1- By following this option Ivanovics will be able to have major control over the business and could maintain their past vision and culture. Though they have managed the company very effectively in the past but managing on a higher scale would require expertise with higher autonomy.
Option 2- This will lead to Ivanovics lesser control over the business as the management team will work on their terms. The current management team have remained isolated with the operation and culture of the company and therefore there is less chance that they might get involved in the future. Though the company’s income statement shows the poor performance by management team but still quite possible they might be successful in a long run if they are provided with full autonomy.
Option 3- This option leads to a serious doubt in all the criteria. Nothing with certainty can be said about the working style of the new manager. The new manager could follow the either way which may or may not go well with Ivanovics. Moreover if McRae leaves then other top managers hired by him might follow

This would also ensure their control over the company affairs and involvement with the employees. They have managed the business in the past and with McRae’s assistance they will be able to deal with the growing pressure.
Action Plan
Being a critical period for the company, Ivanovics should quickly take control over the company’s affair and explicitly design the scope ofMcRae’s job. He could be assigned with his old position as strategy consultant. They need not to fire Coleman but rather evaluate her performance and accordingly take further action. McRae had joined the company because of Ivanovics commitment and love towards the company and since he has taken back the resignation means that he is now ready to comply with therefore if properly communicated McRae will take it in right spirit.
If McRae do not acquiesce with Ivanovics then as a contingency plan they should start looking for a new top management team along with the help of their Board
