The Igbos do not take kindly to government without Consultation and Representation. Soon after taking power as Military Governor in January 1966, Ojukwu realized that he had to have a closer line to the broad masses of the people, partly because of the inherent characteristics of the Igbos and partly because of the public perception of him as a super genius with his own predilections .
