If You Were Sentenced To Life For Rape What Would You Do?

If you were sentenced to life for rape what would you do? Especially if you’re not the real suspect. July 25, 1984 in Burlington NC, Jennifer Thompson home was broken into and a suspect was armed with a knife and told her shut up or he will kill her and she was raped. Jennifer studied the features of the rapist so if she lives he’ll go to prison. Jennifer tricked her rapist into thinking she was going to fix him a drink, and she ran out the home. Later that night her suspect raped another women about half a mile away, I thought to myself that he’s coldblooded. Jennifer chose Ronald Cotton in a line up as her suspect as number 5. Pretrial process proceed such as right …show more content…
I’m happy he didn’t get depressed and just give up , he would’ve been locked up for life for no reason. Although he was freed Jennifer took 11 years from Ronald at the age of 22, so basically until he was 34 . As a man going through such a thing he could’ve came out with anger issues , disliking women, angry, or abusive yet he didn’t and even forgave Jennifer . I wonder did Jennifer ever accept him as a true friend and Bobby as a real suspect ? Did she ever write Bobby? What does Ronald and Jennifer talk about? Does his family truly forgive …show more content…
Being that Ronald and Bobby look so much alike Jennifer had no choice but to choose Ronald . Ronald didn’t believe that innocent men could be convicted until it was done to him, Just like Ronald didn’t know of this issue going on neither did I. If it was done to me I wouldn’t have thought to keep going for a try. That was very impressive to me and Jennifer angered me a bit as well. I understand she was angry as a women yet, if the court is trying to retrial then obviously something is missing in the case, I feel the whole court system was agreeable and working with both the victim and Ronald well. If Bobby Poole wouldn’t have told other inmates I also feel Ronald wouldn’t have wanted to try
