Please stop and realize that that 's the last time you 'll ever have to hear that phrase. Do you hear me Mr. Solkoff, these children will clap for you no more! We can all say that over the last four years, we have heard enough from people like Mr. Solkoff, Mr. Randle, and Mr. Bassell. Seriously it 's getting a little creepy, when I go to sleep at night, and it gets real quiet, I can still hear Mr. Randle 's voice calling my house inviting me to a PTA meeting that no one will show up to. It is the first year where you break from that sophomore year cliché of finding your high school identity but instead many of you found your true individual identity. We learned how to articulate our views clearly and take on responsibilities. Many of you began to work at jobs or at prestigious internships either in your communities or in city while at the same time being a student. All of us were tested in the literal sense as we took PSAT’s and SAT’s and how could anyone forget AP’s. IF YOU LOVE FRIENDS, YOU WILL SERVE YOUR FRIENDS. IF YOU LOVE COMMUNITY, YOU WILL SERVE YOUR COMMUNITY. IF YOU LOVE MONEY, YOU WILL SERVE YOUR MONEY. AND IF YOU LOVE ONLY YOURSELF, YOU WILL SERVE ONLY YOURSELF. AND YOU WILL HAVE ONLY YOURSELF. SO NO MORE WINNING. INSTEAD, TRY TO LOVE OTHERS AND SERVE OTHERS, AND HOPEFULLY FIND THOSE WHO LOVE AND SERVE YOU IN RETURN.”
There are three groups of people who I can say I serve. The first are my parents. We would not be here without our parents guiding us at home, supporting us financially, and demonstrating what leadership and adulthood looks like through their actions. I know for a fact that I would not be here without my mother teaching me how to write and how to speak while my Dad taught me how to listen and how to understand. To them I say thank you as all of you should do some time
