I went to high school in two different schools, both being in two different continents. In Palestine, where I first felt the experience of High School, I had a lot of friends. Yet, I struggled with finding a group that would understand me for me, and not understand me simply for being the “American Girl”. In a small town in Palestine, people are not exposed to many foreigners, so I was the cool new toy that everyone wanted to get their hands on. In a way they were using me so they could go home and say, “I met the American”. I liked having friends so I had never thought much about it.
