If I Want To Become An Agricultural Teacher

I am often asked my by my peers why I am taking this class if I’m not an education major or if I don’t want to be a teacher. While this is true and it’s not in my immediate plans to become a teacher after college, I do not know what path I will take in my future. If I am to become a teacher, I would like to be an agricultural or vocational teacher – this means I would be held to different standards and would be following different but similar guidelines as your “standard” academic teachers. I found it only fitting for this assignment to interview my high school natural resources teacher. I had her as a teacher each term for all four years of high school, and if I do become a teacher it would be doing something very similar to what she did.
Since I am not an education major and am interested in a different type of education than most of the class, I often find it hard to keep up as I am missing fundamental background knowledge and I don’t want all of this practice unpacking standards and creating learning targets to become “wasted” if I won’t even have standards. From this interview, I hoped to gain more insight on what it takes to become

I was partially correct – you can get your masters in education and get your job that way (although I’m not sure if there’s anything else you need – certificates or something similar to prove you know your materials), or you can come in straight from the field with 3+ years of full time experience. Besides fulfilling professional development hours for license renewal, you only need to take additional classes if you come straight from the field. I am glad to learn that there are several options for me if I do decide to teach. I was also provided with information on how to find a job in this field if I so desired, and I was very appreciative of

    Edwin And Phyllis Summary

There are many articles that I have read over the last few weeks, but two in particular really challenged my thinking and philosophy in regards to education. In the article, “Edwin & Phyllis,” Lynn Fendler engages her readers with a meaningful dialogue between an experienced teacher and a prospective educator, debunking some of the more traditional responses that young, perspective teachers might give for wanting to become educators. The truth is that teaching can be anything but glamorous and oftentimes straddles the fine line between causing more harm then the good that it seeks to accomplish in the life of a child. Prospective teachers must not only think about what motivates them in wanting to become educators, but what type of teachers…

Each person has his or her individual path to follow, no two paths are exactly the same; but, every now and then, paths interweave and people construct bonds with each other. In the case of Sonny and his brother, the narrator, in James Baldwin’s short story, “Sonny’s Blues”, their paths were parallel with one another until they grew up. Sonny left the slums of Harlem, aspiring to become a musician, while his brother settled in Harlem and became a teacher. Although the narrator and his brother ended up with completely different lives, the narrator being a family man with a teaching job and Sonny, an ex-convict playing jazz at a club, are ironically more similar than they are portrayed.…

One day, I took my one and a half year old nephew to a place called Gymboree, a gym with play equipment to help teach the children how to do various activities. My sister suggested that I should come see him play and climb on the equipment during the lesson. One of the workers came to the front and started the first exercise by singing a song. My nephew clapped, screamed, and danced to show his excitement. As I watched the lesson director sing and encourage the children, I realized how much I enjoyed it and how much I wanted to be in the director's shoes.…

1 I come from a long line of educators and administrators on both sides of my family. Various relatives of mine have taught me to understand and appreciate the importance of education. This being the case, they have inspired my decision to be a teacher, preferably an elementary school teacher. Since around 1991, the thought of reforming America’s education system has invaded an immense amount of citizens’ minds. Many believe that the academic program we all know as the norm should make a change, such as XQ America, and their Super School campaign. XQ was co-founded by Russlynn Ali and Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of Steve Jobs. While XQ America focuses on the improvement of high school, I personally believe the education system as a whole should be reconsidered. As an aspiring teacher, I believe I can reform America’s schooling method in various ways, such as ensuring I teach effectively and incorporating STEM techniques.…
