If I Stay is a story based off of a girl, Mia who is a seventeen year old girl who was just recently in a family car crash. Mia and her family were having breakfast when on the radio, the announcer said that all schools were closed for the day due to snow. Mia’s little brother Teddy was overwhelmed with the excitement and ran around the kitchen. Her dad, a middle school teacher was also happy to not go into work. Mia’s mother thought it would be a good idea to go and visit her aunt and uncle to see their new baby and after they can go over to their grandparent’s house for an early dinner. The whole family quickly got in the car and began the trip. Mia is a skilled cello player who takes pride in her playing. She asked if her dad could play Beethoven’s Cello Sonata number 3. As she listened to the solo she pretended to play her own cello along with the track as she looked out her window. The outside seemed to be a peaceful heaven looking like a white blanket was set over everything. Everyone was happy and well then all of a sudden a truck comes around a corner and lost control. As Mia opens her eyes she sees the graceful snow fall. She looks around and is confused. Mia finds her dad first. He is surrounded by paramedics who have flooded the scene. Next she goes to find Teddy. She runs to the ditch that she woke up in and sees an arm she reaches and realizes that it is her. Overwhelmed with confusion she completely forgets everything and walks around the car. As she does she …show more content…
The author put the perspective to where the reader could somewhat relate to Mia and her journey. As you read along you start to feel the pain and suffering that Mia has experienced throughout the rough times in the hospital. I would most definitely recommend this book to someone who would like to read a sad, romance book. This book was very enjoyable and I would love to read the
