if i stay Essay Have you ever had to make a difficult decision? Mia, the main character in if i stay did. Mia is a girl who loves to play the cello and grew up with her mom, dad and brother, Teddy. She was very different from her parents because they liked rock band music and lived that thrilling lifestyle whereas Mia liked classical music and was more confined. In the book and the movie if i stay Mia’s family got into a car accident and that’s when everything changed in Mia’s life. After the accident Mia lost her mom, dad and brother. She did come to a final decision in the end. When comparing the movie to the book there were many differences and similarities between the two. However, they were both equally enjoyable. Throughout the book there were similarities and differences that made the book better than the movie. A few important character connections and details were in the book that were left out in the movie. In the book, for example, Kim and Mia’s relationship wasn’t as detailed in the movie. It didn’t show their fight like it did in the book and all of their childhood between the two seemed to be missing from the movie. Mia and Kim had some important things that occurred in their childhood which I thought was important and should have been included in the movie. Her grandparents also weren’t in the movie as much as they were in the book.
