If I Loved You

Online Performance #1 Although all three videos showed the same song being performed, the environment of each performance definitely had an influence on how it was sung and performed. In each rendition of “If I Loved You”, by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, there was differences in the way the message of the song was being conveyed. There are probably things in each rendition that can be improved on, such as posture or in having more facial expressions. Each performance had its own challenges due to the setting they were in, but all of them had a common goal of portraying a message. People have their own interpretation of what the song is trying to convey, so of course each rendition did not sound the same, and had its own character. …show more content…
Although both singers use lots of facial expression, they hardly interact with one another. They do not look at each other through most of the performance, and it seems more as if the song is directed towards the audience and not at each other like the other two renditions were. They both had amazing posture throughout the entire performance, and not once did they tense up on their shoulders. Their breathing techniques and timing where fantastic, which was noticeable because when they breathed their shoulders would hardly move. In this rendition the singing is main focus, but in the other two renditions acting, if not more than, equally as important as the singing. This rendition did not have that quality in which it seemed as like an intimate moment unlike the other two. It was not romantic, but it did have a distant type of quality which came across as a heart break …show more content…
Something that I noticed that occurred in every performance was how each person would prepare themselves for a big moment. When a big, long, or high note or phrase would come they would take the time to correct their posture in order to perfectly execute that moment or phrase. Something else that they all did when hitting those big moments, especially at the ending, was that they would open up their mouths more. All of the singers, although at some point some of them may have tensed up a bit, made it seem as if this song was very easy to sing and they exuded confidence in their ability.
All of these renditions were amazing, but the first rendition is my favorite because of its overall quality. I am a sucker for romance and I love how both characters seem to have real chemistry between them. The lyrics of the song seem to actually come alive during this performance, and the emotions seem more real rather than rehearsed like the second rendition, or distant like the third rendition. Each performance had its own unique qualities, which made each of them very distinct and special. It’s awesome to see how different people perceive and convey different emotions even though it is the exact same

Each actor knew when and where they needed to have their lines or moves. Overall, the play was very smooth and flowing. The tempo of the actors were neither too fast nor too slow, it was very generally suitable. I could say their actions moved like one whole play. I didn’t see anything odd in the play with their acting.…

He Mandu After listening to both versions of the song, I prefer to listen to the second version. The first version it seems out of balance in how everyone was singing. It seemed that the singers on the right side, specifically the one in the red, was doing the most singing. While the left singers to me did not feel as if they were singing as much.…

Unforgettable with Stephanie Aaron and the Bradley Jazz Ensemble was a very unique experience. I do not attend many concerts, but the ones that I have gone to were nothing like this one. The concert was full of energy and the lighting was dynamic. I mostly went to traditional concerts, but this jazz concert was much more energetic. When musicians would finish a solo the crowd would applaud and there was a lot of movement among the ensemble.…

This performance is from October in 2015. Personally I liked the piece, but it could use a little more help. While they have good points in the piece they also had some low points. The basses had a good deep and dark sound like you want for many of our male singers to achieve. Their vowels were outstanding just like they always are.…

This songs tempo was really slow which seem to change the mood of the room. The temperature of the room seemed to cool down and there was less chattering. It seemed like the band was dictating how the audience behaved. The players seem more relaxed and at ease. During the performance Josh stops playing but instead of walking off the stage like in the previous song he closed his eyes and stood there for a few minutes.…

Both of these concerts are undeniably different in atmosphere, sound, and eloquence; however, they do have one common factor. This common factor is the musicality they bring to their audience as well as the joy that is exuberated throughout the performance. The first virtual concert I watched entitled “Slatkin Conducts Appalachian Spring” was not a traditional band much like the other virtual concert entitled “Dr. Ralph Stanley and The Clinch Mountain Boys”. Appalachian Spring started out soft and sweet then it built momentum until the climax of the song. This point of the song was loud and demanding.…

The feel of the song differs a lot from the original. It is still sung at somewhat the same tempo, and as far as I can tell, it is in the same key, but there is so much more emotion in Israel in his version, it gives it a more personal and “feel good” mood, that is the best way that I can describe it. It seems as though the message of this song is also a lot more personal than the original. It feels like Israel is singing about his life and he is singing from a point in his life where he was not very happy, but was just trying to look forward and be optimistic about life. I think that the message from Israel’s cover and the original are somewhat similar because they both feel like they are talking about life getting better or a better life being in arms reach.…

During my ongoing business conference to Colorado to learn about future career opportunities for my dual degrees in Communication design and Computer Science, I got to attend an orchestra concert presented by the Hapless Heroes who were conducted by Leslie Stewart. The show was musical theatre where they had a live orchestra playing in front of the stage while the actors explained the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. I attended this amazing show on the 4th of December. I love learning about Greek Mythology so I was already enthusiastic about attending this show.…

When I was going in I did not know what to expect because I have never been to a music concert on the MTSU campus. There were around 60-70 people who attended this concert. Most of the individuals who attended were more than likely there for a class because more than half were students who did not understand the concept of staying off of their phone.…
