If I Did This Cost Me My Life?-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
We all do stupid things when we are young, whether it’s sneaking out or picking a fight for no good reason; but what I did, was something that nearly cost me my life. Just a few days ago I was at my friend Kyle’s house, there was also our friends Alex and Jarod. After we finished hanging out I realized why racing can be a terrible idea. I was the first that had to leave since it had been pretty late, but as i got up Jarod chose he should go home as well, and with both of us leaving Alex decided to go with Jarod to Taco bell. I just had to go get some gas but as I was leaving i saw Jarod speed up past me before leaving the neighborhood, seeing that quick flash of white as his car passed me gave me a bit of a jump. I was now driving behind him as it was very dark outside and I wanted to take a chance or two at passing him, just too show I was not going to be pushed to the side. There were nearly no cars out that night so i felt no real risk in driving into the …show more content…
Just to rub in the fact that I couldn’t do anything he began to slow down to nearly half of the designated speed limit of 35. Eventually we were at a long stretch of road where I thought i could get ahead of Jarod if I took him by surprise. I cut to the side quickly and gunned my engine, as I was speeding up I knew he wouldn’t be able to stop me, but up ahead I saw one dim light that had to be from a car. I assumed since it was just one light and wasn’t bright it was a car that hadn’t left the parking lot of a store we were passing, so i sped up to try and get ahead of Jarod a bit quicker, I simply didn;t want to give him the satisfaction of winning. But as I got closer I noticed the second headlight pointed right at me! At this point I was going about 50 or 60 miles per hour and luckily the car in front of me was not moving. There was a turning lane coming up so i used it to my advantage and got

Hello Nosleep family. I'm writing to you tonight because I've experienced something grim in the last few days. This is the first time I've had access to anything connected to the internet since shortly after the "incident" began. I've been running on about four hours of fearful "rest" since about five days ago, so please forgive me if my recalling is scattered. I live in a small city of about 15,000 people.…

Before handle the above cases, Please read this scripture Proverbs 29:14. On November 10th 2016, approximately a mile to exit 31 when I noticed some thing went off my dash lights. I made plan to pull in to the nearest truck stop, which is located at the exit 31 approximately a mile from the exit. Just before the exit, Sgt Alen Moore pulled me over and indicated that the trailer lights was out. I told him that I had lights on the trailer, but I’ve notice something went out of my dash, it must be a fuse and I’m pulling off at the truck stop on exit 31 to check the fuses.…

Drunken Escapades Intoxicated adults are extremely difficult to babysit and keep out of trouble; especially, when they cause troubling situations that affect everyone. I learned this while helping my boyfriend, Drew, watch his father while his mother, Rebecca, was at work for the night. At the beginning of the night, around five in the afternoon, my boyfriend, Drew, and I decided to take his father, Scot, to Jefferson’s for dinner. This seemed like a harmless idea.…

Today I am going to tell you about the time I nearly killed myself last year. I was on vacation at Pismo Beach driving ATVs with my brother and parents on my birthday. It was our fourth time going so we were little bit experienced. “ Don’t do anything risky it’s not worth if you ruin your life because of one mistake, “ my mom calmly explained as she put her helmet on. “ Ok whatever.…

Six Flags Trying to keep a serious face while going downwards on a rollercoaster is seemingly difficult. The best part of the roller coaster ride is when it takes your picture when you’re on the ride. If anyone were to go online and search, “funny roller coaster photos”, I’m sure they will get a laugh out of it. That’s exactly what I did when I went to Six Flags with my girlfriend.…

When we pulled into the parking lot of Santa Maria High School I realized it is not likely that Roberto will get away. The immigration officer told me to stay in the car and wait for him to return, and even if I wanted to I could not have gotten out since the officer locked the car and there was another in the back, who was keeping his eye on me. About half an hour later the immigration officer came back without Roberto and I heard him say "The kid went home for the day" to the officer, which gave me some hope that he would not get caught. Just as I began to think this, the car pulled out and started driving over to the barrack on the ranch that my family lived.…

As all these things were swarming my head, a grey cat crossed the road. Immediately I swerved to the right to miss it, I over corrected and went into the ditch. The only thing I could think about was how I was gonna fix this, It never really occurred to me that I was wrecking my car. I swerved hard to the left to get back over on the road and hit a covert. When I hit the covert it treated my car as a ramp.…

What Was I Doing I woke up at eight o’clock in the morning like any other day. I got out of the bed and pulled open the curtains to see what a beautiful day it was outside. I went to the kitchen poured a glass of orange juice; and made some bacon, eggs, and toast for breakfast.…

I had not ever been in a car accident before in my life, so when I experienced one, I did not enjoy nearly dying. It happened four years ago, I can still vividly remember everything. I was with my sister, Nakesha, she was driving since I was not old enough to drive yet. We were having a good day and had decided to go to my dad’s for a while to see him since our parents are divorced. We spent a considerable amount of time with our dad who kept making us laugh like he always does.…
