And if I could stop time, I’d have done it a million times by now.
There’s just so many moments I wish I could change.
“So,” I said, while you looked at me. I wanted to fill this horrible silence. It consumed me, kind of like you did – but it was beautiful. I didn’t want it to be filled, I was happy just being there, your attention all mine. For once.
“So,” he said, words following mine after the intense, brief moment.
“I…,” I didn’t know where my words were going.
“I know.” He didn’t know. Unless he was a mind-reader, he didn’t know, of course he didn’t. He couldn’t. It would be…life ending.
“You don’t!” I say. My words were accusing, I felt bad, it was too harsh.
“I do,” he said, “there’s no other explanation.”
