It is observed that in rhetoric, social beliefs are reflected through the words that speakers of that time carefully choose to craft a statement. Ideological criticism then strives to identify a pattern of beliefs that a specific group has, through the rhetoric they present. Once they are identified, these beliefs show the groups “fundamental social, economic, political or cultural interests” (Foss, p.209). The first exposure of his liberal perspective comes into view when he further describes the campaign’s slogan as “the same loaded language as the conservative political activists”, immediately giving the readers the conclusion that he is of the opposing side (Sirota 760). And while the target is more directed towards the same political party he is in, the choice of words within this paragraph makes his point less credible because the display of his biasedness is blunt. It is not wrong for a writer to have a preference when it comes to certain things however, but in the context of trying to persuade the readers and audience to see reason, it may come off as a personal attack to those who differ from his…

Numerous noteworthy speeches use logical fallacies as well as logos, ethos, pathos in order for an effective communication of the issue. For example, Obama’s Inaugural Address, incorporates an unforgettable slogan that reiterates throughout the entirety of the speech to make for a more powerful and effective address. During Obama's Inaugural Address, he reused the expression “We will” at the start of various sentences. He supposed, “We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.” This logical fallacy, glittering generalities, reminds people that Obama will bring our nation together.…

While the purpose of lying is to distract from the truth, bullshitting, as Harry Frankfurt describes in his essay On Bullshit, stands in its own class. Bullshit is a technique politicians and others use to sway the masses that disregards reality entirely. It occurs whenever someone makes a statement without considering “how things really are,” in Frankfurt’s terms. Throughout his political career, President Donald Trump has often ignored objective facts in favor of promoting bullshit, which his recent tweets exemplify. According to numerous polls, most Americans don’t support Trump’s executive order seeking to temporarily ban immigration from 7 Middle Eastern countries.…

As the Super Tuesday Sun starts its descent over the horizon, many worldwide are wondering if America will complete its metamorphosis to the racist , belligerent, caballistic butterfly catalyzed by the election of Barack Obama to the seat of President. After a contentious seven year dormancy rife with ever increasing anti-immgration stances, racial tension, political deadlocks, and Caucasians feeling persecuting by protests against police brutality and other social ill the surging popularity of Donald Trump would seem to indicate so. For certain, many around the world are praying that Time travelers in the future can come back to stop Trump's continued existence, however a few European villages have taken a different approach. A few months ago, the elders of one eastern European village decided that in the event of a Trump Presidency it would be best to appease the global tyrant by supplying him with a new young wife.…

Donald J. Trump has lashed out at fellow Republicans, calling them “disloyal” and “far more difficult” than Hillary Clinton. He has griped openly about a “rigged” political system, saying Wednesday he has “no respect” for the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates and complaining about a “defective” microphone in the first debate. And on Monday, at a rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he worried the election could be “stolen” from him and singled out Philadelphia, a city with a large African-American population, warning, “We have to make sure we’re protected.” Mr. Trump’s ominous claims of a “stolen election” — which he often links to black, urban neighborhoods — are not entirely new.…

Domestic tranquility in the United States is outlined by the Constitution and can be better understood as the way in which society lives in harmony (Wilson). Unfortunately, society has not reached a state of tranquility yet. This can be traced to ideas of racism, sexism, and other means of discrimination in the United States. Although some strides have been made to try and counteract these modes of discrimination, society has recently taken a step back in its development towards a tranquil state. Specifically, the rhetoric used by Donald Trump has been linked to ideas of racism and sexism.…

Common sense seems to dictate that one of the current presidential candidates, Donald Trump was never thought to be running to lead our country. Trump is most commonly known as the very successful businessman who has made billions of dollars in his lifetime. He is also known for being extremely outspoken, and opinionated. Although, I don’t believe he would be the best option for our country due to his fearlessness when it comes to offending people and could even potentially chose the wrong words ruining our relationships with other countries. I am aware that many voters are ready for a change to a more outgoing, and verbal candidate.…
