Developing a strong sense of identity is essential in a child’s early years of life (as it underpins the principles, practices and learning outcomes of the EYLF) and Culture is the key building block of identity meaning developing a strong cultural identity is essential to children's sense of who they are and where they belong. It is extremely important for educators/service to nurture, celebrate and reinforce each child’s cul-ture and support them in the development of their cultural identity in order to ensure that they are growing up to be proud and confident learners.
Respect for diversity is one of the key principles in the EYLF and My Time, Our Place, diversity can be in many forms i.e. language, ethnicity, beliefs and values, family
