In Task 1, I will be explaining the range of services provided by my service provider which will involve the main and additional services they provide. It will include the three sectors in health and social care and how each sector is relevant to my service user. The two multi-agency workers who work with my chosen service provider to provide care services needed and I will explain how they communicate to ensure client needs are met. Also, explaining the difference between universal and targeted services.

The difference between universal and targeted services is that universal services are available to all citizens. However, targeted is only for individuals with specific needs.
Universal services are services that are available to all citizens across the country. The NHS is an example of universal services that is provided to all citizens across the country. NHS provides healthcare for all citizens according to their needs. Ruth uses these services because they provide her with the medical attention that she needs. Also, other universal services that Ruth uses are sport clubs and leisure centres which are under community support and organisations which are available to everyone.
Targeted services are services that are not available to everyone but are set up to provide services for specific needs. For example, the pulmonologist that Ruth attends is only aimed for individuals with lung and respiratory illnesses which Ruth has benefited from. Lastly, another targeted service which Ruth has access to is the support group, which is aimed at children from the ages of one to five.
