According to the The St. Louis Dispatch, the city of St. Louis experienced 159 murders in 2014, which was a major increase from 2013 homicide statistics for St. Louis. To begin this battle, there are several reporting centers being implemented across the state. Victims will be able to reach out to non-law enforcement agencies, such as hospitals and counseling centers, to report their sexual abuse. The public safety departments on campuses will then utilize the additional resources to help educate students of their potential risk of rape, prevention techniques, and what to do when a suspected rape occurs. These tactics will employ community-policing models to address the community’s role in prevention and share in the responsibility.
Identify the Most Serious Public Disorder Problems: The two most serious public disorder problems currently facing Missouri residents are prostitution and drug crimes. Prostitution is a major issue affecting women of all ages and disrupting society’s normal functions. Drug crimes have remained a major issue for Missouri for several decades and it does not appear to be going away anytime soon. However, this does not mean that our law enforcement agencies are powerless in reducing it.
