Little do they know; the fryers and heat is shut off thirty minutes before closing to allow ample time to clean. The moody “late nighter” is unhappy no matter what happens, so they never get the fresh entrée of what they so

Leidner wrote a book, Fast Food Fast Talk: Service work and the routinization of everyday life, in which she worked in and observed working life in a McDonalds and compared it to an insurance company. Going into this project, there were not many expectations made about what to expect in the McDonalds observed. The following are the expectations that were kept in mind while the field observations, discussed later in this paper, were conducted.…

Within Wilbur’s Total Beverage company, there were two problems that we noticed after conducting the interview. The two problems were the lack of technology that was used to account for the new inventory that was coming into the back-end and the individual, over-aged employee that makes delivery stops to individuals’ houses. Two recommended solutions to address these problems is implementing an integrated system of receiving, inventory, and order management, and hiring an additional, ideally younger delivery person to have additional shifts for personal alcohol delivery. Wilbur’s Total Beverage accounts for incoming inventory manually, with an employee marking incoming shipments. This inventory management process creates a bottleneck in their…

A quick stop to the Five Guys, in Winter Garden Village, during rush hour is interesting but rewarding. The smell of the peanuts and beef hits my nose as soon as I had entered and I crave their food even more. As I enter the restaurant, I am first met with a stack of white bags filled with Idaho potatoes right in front of the door.
