I began by evaluating my current position to determine if this is where I want to be in my career, or if I wanted to advance. The new position would allow me to share my intricate knowledge and mentor my subordinates to help them excel at their jobs and hope fully become supervisors or team mentors themselves. I would also have more input on policies and procedures that can assist the organization reach its goals and more. Additionally, I would receive a substantial increase in pay, which not only increases my weekly pay check, but increases the amount I will receive when I retire. Like any decision there are negatives associated with it also. To begin with my work hours would change; I would be required to work an hour later per day and have to work weekends and odd shifts occasionally. This new schedule would affect my home life by limiting time I spend with my family. In addition to the schedule changes, I would be required to switch work sites, changing my daily commute from 5 miles to 35 miles one way. This would also take away from time with my family. Lastly, the added responsibility could increase job related
