What if, one day the media and entertainment that people indulge in was suddenly taken over by the government and they replace it with what they deem as appropriate? Ever since the 20th century TV, internet and music have been filtered by the FCC to block out inappropriate words, pictures and actions. Censorship usually tends to cause problems when it tries to silence voices, and images. In the United States some of our pride is based on freedom of speech but typically we have experienced censorship. In schools the teachers and administration tend to ban books or movies that they believe are to inappropriate. The educators also filter internet sites and create firewalls …show more content…
The first bureau is the consumer and governmental affairs bureau (CBG for short) this bureau works to expand and implement the consumer policies also providing for people with disabilities. The CBG bureau maintains a health communicative relationship with tribal governments and manages the consumer call center. The second bureau is the enforcement bureau (EB). This bureau’s main objective is to enforce the Communications Act, ‘An act to provide for the regulation of interstate and foreign communication by wire and radio, or for other purposes (Bureau of Navigation), and FCC rules by protecting consumers, handling on-scene investigations and inspect by responding to complaints to support the Commission’s operations. Next is the International Bureau (IB). Their goal is to administer telecommunications on an international level. Everything that happens on the media internationally is controlled by this group. The fourth group is the Media Bureau (MB). The Media Bureau is the most recognized of the seven because it watches over broadcast radio and television also overseeing cable and satellite services. Individuals in the broadcasting business whether it be TV, radio, or podcasts are monitored by this group and are required to go over licensing and policies to air their content. Fifth is the Public Safety & Homeland Security. The fifth sector strategizes initiatives to strengthen public safety and emergency response capabilities in the case of a pandemic, natural disaster or a terrorist attack. Sixth is Wireless Telecommunications. This bureau polices wireless telecommunications it also governs wireless services in order to ensure the safety of individuals. Finally the seventh bureau is the Wireline Competitions Bureau. This bureau works on
