Let’s begin with the fact that I am Caucasian. This simple fact, that I have no control over in my life, has made all the difference to me. This is in no way meant to be a negative thing, I view it as though it has had a positive effect on me. I have grown up in a predominantly white community in Advance, MO, the town has a handful of African Americans and even fewer people of different races. This doesn’t show the difference between me and those of different races around me, however, watching how the community treats those different from them in Advance has certainly shown me the privileges of my ethnicity.

It seems when it comes to sharing political interests with the whole of Americans, I differ from their opinions. Many of the most vocal political interest groups that I see, is the Democratic party, which might I add, I am a Republican. My political views have caused confliction with people that I know simply because of the beliefs that I uphold.
