Idealism Vs. Old Earth Creationism

Improved Essays
There are two main categories for creationism, they are Young Earth Creationism and Old Earth Creationism. Young Earth Creationism is an idea that is based on the contents of the chapter Genesis from the bible and states that the earth was created about less than 10,000 years ago. Old Earth Creationism is a form of creationism that is based off of the contents of Genesis and does use scientific theories to support itself. Old Earth Creationism has two parts, the first being Progressive Creationism and the second being Day Age Creationism. In the theory of Progressive Creationism, it is though that what happened in Genesis happened not in a week as we know it, but slowly over the course of millions of years instead. Day Age Creationism is very similar to Progressive Creationism, in a way it adds onto Progressive Creationism. Day Age Creationism states that the creation of the universe and everything did take a week like the bible states, but each day in the week was not a normal 24 hour day but instead millions of years. Archeology is a branch of science which studies rocks, minerals and the formation of the earth. From Archeology it has been scientifically proven that the earth formed several billion years ago.

In W.D Valgardson’s The Novice, readers learn that idealism and truth can play a significant role in an individual’s life, which can be detrimental to their understanding of the truth of the situation. The result of this inaccurate perception can be a life of deluded happiness that can quickly turn to anger and disappointment. Idealism and truth play a significant role in the mate’s life. A prevalent example of how significant it really is can be seen in the fact that he feels he would be “encumber[ed]” by a family.…

Evolutionary Creationism is a belief that God created the universe and all life including our surroundings through evolution. We have an old Earth that is 4.6 billion years old. When God was creating the Earth, the seven days weren't made up of our twenty-four hour days. The time he spent was consisted of what we know now as years. This took up a lot of time as well as the many years in between each event in the Bible.…

Creation science is a pseudoscience because it disregards scientific evidence that contradicts it and provides illogical explanations to prove their argument. To begin with, the evolution model counter argues all of the creation model’s seven aspects with its seven aspects. In the evolution model’s perspective, the universe, solar system, and life were created by natural processes, mutations and natural selection bring different kinds of complex organisms from its predecessors’ simpler forms, men and apes share a common ancestor, earth’s geological features change, or remain the same, from its slow, gradual processes with infrequent catastrophic events, and earth and living organisms exist a long time ago. There is scientific evidence to prove…

Jaclyn put herself in this camp. The reason for this position is to try to reconcile the supposed evidence from science and the Bible as well as relying on an improper translation of verse 2 where, “Instead of ‘And the earth was formless and empty’… [it is interpreted] as ‘Now the earth became formless and empty’”. DeWitt describes this as a “tortured interpretation of Scripture…inconsistent with Exodus 20:11.” A close reading of the genealogies in Genesis place the Creation at about 6,000 years ago.…

The Popol Vuh opens by telling how the multiple Mayan gods created the Earth, everything it is composed of, and how they later create beings capable of worship. In Genesis, one God is responsible for the creation of everything, the most important being mankind. The Popol Vuh and Genesis are so similar that the Popol Vuh is sometimes thought of as a Mayan take on the Bible. The most paramount similarities are explaining the origin of humanity, illustrating the consequences for not following the rules set by the gods or of God, and the creation of everything on Earth.…

Most people who believe in God believe in a seven day creation in Genesis. Due to the facts and evidence of evolution this cannot be true because evolution is a patient and slow process. For instance, fossil evidence proves an extensive history of life on Earth, as well as geology and rock formation. Fossil records give evolution the support it needs because observing and comparing layers of sediment from diverse locations of the world gives us a chance to determine earliest life to present; fossil records show how organisms were once simple and evolved to be more complex. For example, invertebrates were here before vertebrates.…

    Evolution Vs. Creationism

Creationists believe that concept and design require a Creator, and when the principals of detecting design are applied to living organisms, they find it a reasonable explanation to believe in the existence of a Creator or Designer, or in other words, a higher power. Creationists generally believe that all organisms were created as single, distinct organisms. For instance Christians and Moslems believe that the world and all living beings on earth were created within 6 days, which could be possible if really such a Supreme Being exist but we have not had a single trace of such a powerful God. If we follow the biblical account of creation very well, then we can deduce that the universe is just about 8,000 years old but scientists have evidences that show that the universe is about 4.5 billion years old. Evidences have also shown that the earlier ages of the earth was not conducive for life as the earth was constantly bombarded with asteroid and that Adam and Eve wouldn’t have survived as been narrated that humans were created just six days after creating the…

Evolutionist think and assume that since sediment forms slowly today it has always formed slowly. So that they believe that sedimentation occurs only during very long ages of time in so that means they think the Earth is very old. Creationist believe that because most rocks are very thick the Earth is not old and to back up their point. The flood could form rock layers very fast eroded and placed elsewhere this could explain the thickest in rocks of modern day to back their point up Mount St.Helens that erupted in Washington produced 25 feet of fine layered sediment in an single afternoon. I would have to go with creationist because saying that because sediment forms slowly doesn't mean it has always been that way and theirs honestly not much physical evidence to back their claim…

Evolution is the theory of modern biology, concerning all biological areas, this theory has supported evidence and many scientists believe it to be truth. Creationist beliefs are not a scientific alternate interpretation to evolution. This is the reason why creationism should not become part of public school curriculums, first for the fact that it is illegal, the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibits the government from establishing religion. Requiring that public schools are not to give superior benefits to any religion. Because creationism is a biased on a superior religious view, it is not to be given special privileges by any government body, including public schools.…

20 Nov. 24th, 2017 Social Evolution - Evolution manifests itself along two axes of human learning: 1) An instrumental logic of learning how to find efficient (or successful) ways of producing and administering one's existence; • 2) Increased potential for reflexive action in a rationalized lifeworld bound together through communicative processes. Increased reflexivity means that with the advent of modernity traditions are constantly questioned and revised. In all of his work, Habermas argues that the lifeworld is the source of human activity, connectedness and meaningfulness. -Habermas's ambitious theory of communicative action assumes that post-traditional persons learn to adopt different attitudes toward corresponding worlds.…

In creationism there is one god who is the one powerful and perfect god who created everything including humans with no expectation of anything in return. Creationism supporters and believers have an idea that there is only one god and no one human could be as incredible as him unlike the Greeks who believed there were many gods and that a human could be a god. The bible is a book that was wrote by many, but influenced by god. Its intentions are to explain…

“So God created mankind in his own image… God saw all that he had made, and indeed, it was very good! The twilight and the dawn were the sixth day.” (International Standard Version, Genesis 1.27-31) Aside from the evolutionism theory that all of us learned in school, there exist other theories explaining where life on earth comes from, and one of the most popular is creationism. Evolutionism is a scientific theory based on Darwin’s work, basically saying that everything that exists evolved from most primitive forms, following the laws of natural selection.…

A great number of people may personally believe in a young Earth creationist theory, but there is no definitive, objective source in the Bible to support this as the one true interpretation. Therefore, any scientific evidence against the young earth…
