This week the class project had to write a paper on the Ideal role of the NP. The class also focused on how the DNP degree adds values to the NPs role. The DNP degree is a terminal degree in nursing. What this means is this is the highest nursing degree an APRN can achieve in their career. This degree is designed to add value to the APRN already master prepared in clinical expertise. I’ve read during my studies reports stating that there are no evidences of any added value in terms of outcomes of care provided by DNP-prepared APRNs over MSN-prepared APRNs. I would say to this, that conclusion such as those cannot be validated. To fully validate our value as DNP, we as graduate need to help employer, stakeholder, patient and other profession
