Choosing an ideal MD program is a difficult process. Some of the factors to consider during the vetting process are academic programs and opportunities that the college offers, location and existing student-faculty population. These elements are important to make the learning process fluent especially during medical school as you want give 110% without any other distractions. After doing research, I think the MD program offered at George Washington University matches the qualities of a quintessential medical program. One of the quotes from a student at George Washington was, “At GW, I have learned to view my intersectional identity and life experiences as an asset to the practice of medicine thanks to an inclusive curriculum and faculty that understand and champion diversity in our colleagues as well as our patients.” Washington D.C. is an example of America as a “melting pot” and has a very diverse population. The diversity of students and staff at GW is also exemplary. I come from a poor developing country without proper health care thus my focus is on understanding and solving the global health issues. University like George Washington which has students from different ethnicity, geographic regions around the world and areas of expertise with similarly diverse faculty to facilitate the learning process makes it easier for me to
