As I believe that education does not just takes place only in schools but also takes place outside the school environment such as their homes and outdoors. The social and cultural practices of the family play a significant role in his or her academic success and degree attainment. Unlike higher education curriculum in USA, Indian undergraduate curriculum never had set defined general education courses for our undergraduate program but it required us to select specialized subjects in our respective discipline along with English and foreign subject. So emphasis on writing critical reflective paper for students majoring in non-arts field area such as science and engineering may not be a popular subject area as much as getting through with good grades in their own discipline. I became familiar with writing critical reflective papers after I was enrolled into the EdD program. This course enabled me to think critically and helped me examine the consistency or inconsistency of the author’s evidences in the light of his or her arguments. The course provided us to look at any evidences from multiple perspectives

These different approaches will be presented as three separate papers but interrelated themes. The specific purpose for each paper and the corresponding research questions were addressed individually in each chapter. However, sceptics have questioned how the concept is sometimes interpreted, arguing that there is unclear logical and pragmatic examination of its value in professional development. Therefore, developing a reflective report is an undertaking that needs to be approached with caution, more so if individual reflection and critical thinking are to be rooted. The purpose of this reflective report is to reflect on the collaborative boat bus project performance and the experiences of working within a multidisciplinary group. The report will give consideration to the feedback we obtained from the client and from Adam Smith (tutor) and how we then applied this feedback to feed in the report writing. An iterative model, meaning learning through participating, somewhat adapted to the one in Bulman and Schultz (2013)’s ‘Reflective Practice in Nursing p232’, Gibbs (1988)’s reflective cycle explains the significance of the evaluation process, especially building on negative as well as positive feedback.…

During this semester I personally contributed to my overall success in the PTAP 2310 class by studying consistently and coming prepared to class. I found that having previously read the chapter and notes, I was able to further understand what Dr. Amite was teaching. This also proved to be beneficial if I had trouble understanding a portion of the chapter I could come with questions. I entered this class knowing that my performance and understanding of the information relied heavily on my entrance into the PTA program. Becoming a PTA is so important to me that it kept me driven to have a complete understanding of the material, even when it was most difficult.…

Competency 2 also states that social workers should present themselves as learners. I presented myself as the facilitator for the day, students called me teacher and I told them I was not a teacher or expert in citizenship classes but still they called me teacher. Another point Competency 2 refers to is self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values when working. To be honest I don't think someone could master this point who could put aside their own values? I think in one way or the other you will always say and suggest something base on your own beliefs or values.…

Twelve weeks later, my first college writing course completed, and to my pleasant almost surprise, I feel as though I have bettered myself in writing. If you look back at my Mid-term Reflection, walking into my first undergraduate writing class was a little unsettling. Was I going to be totally on top of everything the professor threw at us students or was I going to be completely unprepared? Rhetoric and Composition 103 was neither one nor the other, but a writing class that took what I knew and what I did not to create a well-rounded writer. By the time Mid-term’s rolled around, I could already see a change in my skills as a writer.…

Areas of Strength (with evidence): I feel that my 7 years of experience as an Education Assistant serves as one my greatest strengths especially the entirety of goal 6: The development of the clear commitment to respect and celebrate students. There are two students that work closely with an EA. There is also no IEP and therefore no set goals to refer back to in order to celebrate successes for these students. Immediately, I knew I needed to have a plan to put into action. I created successful moments such as check marks for simples tasks like writing their name and date to have them participate in whole class expectations.…

Throughout this semester we have discussed and practiced various techniques that can be used when working with clients. This semester at Loyola has enhanced my understanding of what it truly means to be a social worker, from the classroom perspective. In my field placement, I do not believe it is directly related to social work, but I was able to use a social worker perspective when interacting with the children in the program. This course was the only course that provided me with hands-on experience of engaging with different types of clients. In my other classes, we did not do case demonstrations instead, we discussed different theories and perspectives about individuals and family systems.…
