In this art piece “Icicles Weaving in & out of a rock” the artist Andy Goldsworthy, uses formal elements to create this work of art. One example showing formal elements is Line. The line is created by the icicles that were attached together by small icicles to form into one, to create an illusion that it was all connected going through a rock. The line is shown by the direction the icicle is moving on the rock, from the beginning thick tip to the other end of the thin tip. Next example, is space it is 3D because it is something physically made not a flat surface, and there is space between the icicles formed that make it is shaped into a sort of almost tail-like shape.
