Ice Storm Vs Snow

Improved Essays
There are several factors that go into making an ice storm and a sleet or snow storm. Temperature has a lot to do with this if not everything to do with what happens if we are to get precipitation. When the meteorologist calls for an ice storm there is a lot that goes into knowing how and why it will be ice instead of snow. First and for most the earth’s surface temperature has to reach the freezing point of 32 F. This lets us know that anything type of precipitation will freeze once it hits the ground. If the temperature between the clouds and the surface is above freezing the precipitation that falls will be rain instead of ice or snow. Rain only turns into freezing rain when the surface of earth is below freezing. If it is not below freezing

This is known as heterogeneous freezing, which simply means that water droplets freeze with the help of another substance or substances.…

Although she had picked one of the worst times to go due to the weather being thirty-two below zero she decided to go anyways. During the time, she would admire nature and its beauty as she went on her journey. “There’s nothing quite like the clarity and precision of fresh snow.”…

The application of color and paint in a piece creates a noticeable surface texture within the work. This surface texture can be used to enhance the general chaos or conversely the straightforwardness of a work. The use of color within the image also has an effect on the overall mood of the painting and the viewer’s perception of the subjects. In Claude Monet’s Grainstacks (Snow Effect) the heavily textured surface of the painting and visibility of the separate brush strokes creates a sense of complexity, which along with the practice of keeping colors separate, adds to the visual depth of an otherwise very plain subject but still enforces the general mood of the painting. On the other hand in Kingstein’s Christ in a Pawn Shop the surface texture…
