In the Documentary “Secrets Beneath the Ice In Antarctica”, The scientists studied the climate change by examine the Antarctic Ice Sheet. As the deeper they reached the ice, the further back in time they can study because these ices contained tiny bubbles of ancient atmosphere that trapped each year as the snow was compressed into ice night. Within this content, there are certain topics that relate to the film “Chasing Ice” such as, the impacts of global warming and the annual global temperature rise. The content suggests, that although no one can exactly forecast the exact effects on the increased temperature, “some experts have predicted severe droughts and a rise in ocean leaves of 0.6 meters (2 feet) to 6 meters (20 feet)- conditions that will affect everyone on Earth” (Hales, & Lauzon, 2018). James Balog has also agreed with this, predicting that in his “daughter's lifetimes sea levels will increase between 1.5-3 feet” (----------). The concept also distributes more information on the annual temperature increase. James Balog hypothesizes that this temperature increase is one of the major factors in glacier recession.…

Since the split up of the Soviet Union in the early 90's, Russia has been fighting to claim back many of its old territories in Asia, Europe and the Far North. The world has seen this in March's annexation of Crimea, and multiple invasions of Ukraine and Georgia in the last two years. What the world hasn't seen, however, is the military movements that Russia has kept under wraps since: the militarization and potential annexation of Arctic seas and lands. These claims and occupations of UN proclaimed “neutral” arctic territories have not gone unnoticed, or unmatched, by other world powers; countries with Arctic borders such as Canada and the USA have been slowly getting involved over the last ten years. Whether they are entering the dispute…
