Iberian Lynx And Mediterranean Monk Seal

Decent Essays
Animals such as the Iberian Lynx and Mediterranean Monk Seal are in extreme danger of being extinct. Iberian Lynx's are actually the most endangered cat species while the Monk seals are one of the most globally endangered animals. One of the main reasons being habitat loss and illegal hunting or killings.
While that has been happening animals such as the fruit bat and rabbits have been introduced to the Mediterranean biome area. Even though animals have been losing their homes due to agriculture and development on their land doesn’t stop new animals being introduced to the Mediterranean lifestyle.

The extinction of megafauna around the world was probably due to environmental and ecological factors. It was almost completed by the end of the last ice age. It is believed that megafauna initially came into existence in response to glacial conditions and became extinct with the onset of warmer climates. In temperate Eurasia and North America, megafauna extinction concluded simultaneously with the replacement of the vast periglacial tundra by an immense area of forest. Glacial species, such as mammoths and woolly rhinocerous, were replaced by animals better adapted to forests, such as elk, deer and pigs.…
