Question 1: pH can be described as a measure of acidity or basicity (Alkalinity) of a solution. It is exactly equal in amount to the negative log of the concentration of hydronium(H3O+) ions. Due to the negative log relationship, increased hydronium ions transform to lower pH. When we add it to water, an acid releases hydrogen ion. Hydrogen ions in water unite with the water molecules to form hydronium ions, thereby lowering the pH and increasing the acidity of water. Water exposed to air is gentle in nature acidic because it absorbs small quantities of CO2 from the atmosphere. The CO2 breaks down to carbonic acid to undergo dissociation to release hydrogen ions into water, lowering the pH. Prior to that, acid added to water increases …show more content…
Microbalances are very sensitive to overloading and shock. Whenever a microbalance is in use, set the lever to rest position when including or eliminating materials. Turn the lever to the weight position to register the weight. In some cases, drift because of hysteresis can be removed by the following balance stand without weighing long enough for it to recover. If the stretching of the spring is overloaded, an expensive balance examine thoroughly may be required. In the case of electronic force bringing back the balance, springs are advance gradually by fixtures, and the term bringing back is more compatible to the hysteresis. Select the compatible instrument for weighing the quantity and exactness required. Each instrument for weighing has a load limit, which should not go beyond a limit set by. Each balance manufacturer supplies the maximum loading condition, and this limit varies with the type of balance. The operator should know this limit so that the balance will not be destroyed. The graduated cylinder has graduations every 10 mL and then further graduations every 5mL. The beakers could have graduations every 10 mL, 50 mL, or 100 mL depending on which type you use. It would be easier to measure out the volume in a graduated cylinder. Question
