AMFC Mission The international Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC) works using a multicultural approach to support the families served. Within their approach, worth, dignity, potential and uniqueness is embedded in the efforts, allowing positive outcomes by the professionals involved (IAMFC, 2017). The organization boasts “rigorous training standards” that support and encourage systematic approaches and advocacy for all families supported (IAMFC, 2017).
IAMFC Leadership and Initiative Within the organization, the Emerging Leaders program has been developed, allowing students and professionals to engage in professional networking (IAMFC, 2017). Through this program, there are emerging leaders selected, whom choose an area of interest, engage in this segment, and serve for the organization (IAMFC, 2017). As well, the organization promotes initiative through the annual World Conference (IAMFC, 2017). The conference this year focuses on promoting couple and family counseling, an initiative to inform professionals of potential interventions and best practices in doing so (IAMFC, 2017).
