Iago is able to execute his revenge further because he is able to enforce his plans without contemplation, whereas Hamlet’s delayed revenge becomes a key factor to his downfall. Iago found himself in various predicaments throughout Othello; however, he is able to remove himself by acting quickly and efficiently. When Iago organizes a set-up in which Roderigo and Cassio both injure each other, Iago realizes that Roderigo may expose his vengeance plans; thus, Iago quickly executes him. He also makes another quick decision to kill Emilia for she would also spoil his plans.
