Iago is a Machiavellian villain. He is the master of manipulation and deception. Iago pretends to be your friend, and gains your trust which he will use to make you blind to the fact that he is the actual cause to your problems. In the first two scenes we already see Iago’s ‘two faces.’ The first side of him is shown when he is with Roderigo, and he is giving him orders. The second is when he portrays himself as very ‘loyal’ when talking to Othello warning him about Brabantio.
