ITA Executive Summary

allows private firms to partner with the International Trade Administration (ITA). Through ITA’s strategic partnerships, private firms work with ITA to develop an event, program, or resource, in support on increasing awareness of educational resources and export knowledge. This helps ITA educate the public on exporting, and helps private firms by educating their clients while increasing their brand presence.
The Office of Strategic Partnerships is under the division of Industry and Analysis; of ITA’s three main divisions. While the Strategic Partnership program is under the division of Industry and Analysis, 80% of its partners originate from other divisions.

The Strategic Partnership Program creates support for the National Export Initiative by having Strategic Partners deliver educational information to help their clients and small and medium sized businesses export. The Strategic Partnership program also work to expand ITA’s marketing distribution channels, allowing the organization to promote ITA brand awareness, upcoming trade missions & events, and other ITA resources & services. Given that many of ITA’s strategic partners are trade associations and chambers of commerce, ITA is able to utilize these firms to reach their many clients and educate them on the exporting resources available. By allowing strategic partners to utilize ITA logos, they can better promote their own company and the educational resources that ITA provides. Partner companies will sometimes embed ITA resources on their websites for their clients to use. UPS, for example, placed their logo and a one-page letter from their CEO on an ITA-created guide to exporting and distributed it to their clients and made it available online.
