ISIS started as an al Qaeda splinter group. Known as ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant) plus IS (Islamic State). ISIS was and will always be known for killing dozens of people at the same time and doing crucifixions, public executions, and other acts. 2014, they controlled more than 34,010 square miles in Iraq, and Syria, from south of Baghdad to the Mediterranean coast. ISIS is believed to have more than 3,510 people as slaves. Most are women and children from Yazidi community and from other minority communities.
