ISIS: Active Terrorist Groups

ISIS is a terrorist organization which was formed in August 2013 and is still a very active terrorist group. The main headquater of ISIS is in Syria. The leader of ISIS is Abu Bakr al-Bbaghdadi. They have a very strong organizational chain where there are many more positions belowe theor leader. They have a council for finances, a council for legal matters and security and also several councils for intelligence. Many studys and surveys have concluded that most of the members of ISIS are former military and intelligence officers of Iraq and Saddam Hussein’s government who lost their positions because the Saddam Hussein government was overthrown. The main locations of the ISIS group is in Syria and Iraq where they have conqured very vast areas. The main objective of ISIS group is to promote religious violence. Some of the methods include:
I. Use of Explosive Devices- Various explosive devices can be delivered through various vehicles or by various people. Suicide bombers also carry detonating devices in the vicinity of the target. The detonating devices can be concealed in any part of the body. In some past incidents, terrorist have known to hide these detonating devices in theor shoes.
II. Shootings- Shootings is the most used method of attack by various terrorist groups and also by ISIS. They have orchestrated a number of shootng attacks in the past targeting civilians of many countries.
III. Kidnapping- ISIS has been known to actively kidnap western civilians for financial gains. They have also released a number of videos which demonstrates their strengths over the hostages.
IV. Biological, Chemical and Radiological devices- This is a rare method of attacks but some cases have displayed that the use of ricin. Ricin is a poisonous substance which when mixed with water can kill many
