1) Why do you want to be an ISA?

I would like to be an ISA to serve back to the Loomis community and help the new international students feel welcomed at home here at Loomis. I would like to make the transition for the international students from their homecountry to Loomis, their home in US, much smoother and easier. As a new internation sophomore, I was welcomed by my ISAs and they have helped in numerous ways.

2) What are your greatest strengths? How will you use those strengths as an ISA?

I am very hardworking and a friendly person. Additionally, I came to Loomis from a junior boarding school. Before Loomis, I have already experienced boarding life in the US for 4 years. As an ISA, I will be friendly to the new internation students and will do my best to answer their questions or address their concerns. I will be welcoming, supportive, and enthusiastic. I will try to be friends with

Please specify the term you envision the event happening, and explain whether you would run it by yourself, with other ISA’s, or in conjunction with an existing student club. What resources would you need to implement the event? Why/how would this event be impactful for international students?
NOTE: some past events have included an informal dinner, a trip to a local traditional restaurant, and a weekend event in the SNUG.
If selected as an ISA, I would host an International Student Concert most likely in the SNUG or maybe even in Hubbard. This would most likely occur in the Spring term late in the year. This event would be a concert with performances, short music videos and films. It would be run by several ISAs and possibly in conjunction with the China Club or other international student clubs. Not much resources would be needed as it is purley performances and student-produced videos. This event would allow us, international students, to share our heritage to the entire school and spread our

If not that, the ASB should just continue what they are doing because they are already doing a fantastic job with everything they…

The position that I see myself taking up in the Theta Tau is Brotherhood Chair. The job of Brotherhood Chair ensures that the brothers of this fraternity can create and strengthen strong bonds of fraternal fellowship. This involves planning and organizing group events that are social, intimate, and fun. Not only that, but student involvement is important when representing your school and when improving your school environment. Thus, going to such event may have a significant impact on my college experience. This type of occurrence has the effect of making students feel more united, and unity only makes us stronger as individuals, which is why attending was important.…

Selecting an Event Over the course of the semester, our class was told to participate in a community event different from our own culture. It was actually very hard deciding where I should attend, for the fact; I knew very little of what was available in the area. When it came to figuring out what type of event I wanted to attend I knew that I wanted it to be somewhere that I knew that I could learn from to help with my future practice in social work. I eventually decided on attending a Coffee, Cake and True Islam event hosted at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Center.…
