ICPAS Outstanding Educator Award

Decent Essays
Over a year ago I nominated my accounting instructor for the "ICPAS Outstanding Educator Award" and she won the award competing with faculty from four year Universities, but she was the only instructor for a community college who was granted this award in 2015. The IL CPA Society told her that I was the person who nominated her and when she saw me she hugged me in the middle of the hall in front of a lot of people. She was VERY EXCIDED, for winning, and thankful for my nomination. She told me that nobody has ever nominated her for such an important award and told me that she never though she would get anything like that. I gradated from Harper College in May 2016 and since I transfer to DePaul she emails me at least once per semester to ask

I want to be a member of the Matoaca National Junior Honor Society because I believe it will be able to help motivate me. Although I find that I am NJHS material, I think that this will be able to help me know that I am working for something, and thereby make it more urgent to do good. For example, my time in Scouts has shown me the importance of setting goals. When I discovered that new requirements would be forced on you if you didn’t complete them by the end of the year, I began buckling down on my and others requirements (as assistant patrol leader, I am supposed to help my patrol members.) Whereas my campfire plans were extremely rushed, simply because I didn’t find that they would be needed to be done.…

I believe I am a good candidate to be selected for the Robert Vela High School National Honor Society because I am a dedicated student. My grades do reflect my abilities as a student, but my work ethic in the co-curricular activities that I participate is what really defines it as I put a lot of time and effort into them. In U.I.L. calculator applications, which is the main activity that I partake in, I sacrifice my time almost everyday after school and sometimes my lunch period throughout the school year, as well as the majority of my Saturdays to compete and practice. Not a lot of students would give up this much time and effort unless they are very dedicated. This also reflects my leadership and character as one has to work and communicate…

My most positive high school experience for me has to be when I was inducted into National Honor Society for my senior year. This was something that I has been striving to do since my freshman year after I received my first academic letter. But after our school decided to only allow seniors to be inducted, raised the GPA requirement, and reduced the amount of people that would be allowed to be inducted I wasn’t sure if my goal would still be attainable. But after three years of strenuous classes, constant volunteer service, and keeping my grades up I finally received an acceptance letter and was inducted into NHS where I am able to surround myself with others that have the same academic goals as…

Ideas I can bring to the National Honors society based on scholarship is volunteering for a non profit organization for an event that is held in the community. Spending time on helping others shows that not only you care about yourself but you also care about others in the community. When you work hard you don't expect an award the main objective is to make an impact. You show that making a change on an issue shows how committed and willing you are to spare your own time to contribute to an organization. I represent scholarship by being involved on service learning opportunities that are held in school or events held outside..…
