A new code book needs to be developed for the reason that there are new illnesses emerging each and every year. In order to keep the code book up to date we need to actually update the book while creating a system of coding that is specific to the diagnosis. I do not think the process will take as long as the first switch, because when reading about the process, it was mentioned, the change is not as dramatic as ICD-10. I believe we should move forward because there is no sense to delay the inevitable, which is rolling in the ICD-11.
