Why I Want To Become Old Essay

Shields say “I may have grown old, but I’ll never grow up” (Shields, 82). For me I think the same as Shields said. It is true that we become old but the fact that we do not want to admit it. Everyone wants to go back for being young. They are old in bodies but their mind is still young. I think this is due to the fact that when you admit that you are old there is nothing left for you to do. Your body became weak but your mind still the same, however it will eventually become harder to remember and you start losing your mind and act like a child. The biographical text that the author writes indicated that he still think like a child, because every child wants to become old, but when they are old they want to go back young. It is funny to see a grown person with a child mind. As a child I always want to grow up to do all the cool thing that grown people do. I want to drive a car, to stay up all night, to have money, to travel around the world, however now things are different. I have to wake up every morning to go to school, I have to do a lot of homework, I have to cook my food, I need to get a job, and a lot of other boring things that I do not want to do. It is a funny and true thing to say, but I understand what the writer means by that. For me when I learned how to drive I was about 13 or 14 years old, even though I did not have a driving license. I always take my mother or sister to the mall for shopping, almost every week twice even though sometimes they do not buy anything. Taking them to the mall for shopping drive me crazy especially after I get my license they wanted to go to malls in another city. Sometimes I have to wait in the car for hours for them to finish. For me when I go shopping with my friends we finish fast and go to a restaurant or to the beach to chill. I do not understand how women love
