My sister, Tina, and I moved around a lot when we were younger. We were raised in a single parent home by our mother who had …show more content…
I found a job, an apartment and a car the same day I arrived. The car being a light blue Toyota Tercel that I couldn’t drive because I didn’t know how to drive a stick, the waitressing job was at the Cheesecake Factory in Beverly Hills where I had to sell a BIC writing pen to the hiring manager to get the job. I guess I did well because I got the job. Lastly, I moved my suitcase and cat into a studio apartment on South Hamilton Drive in Beverly Hills, CA, 90210. The money was better than I had ever made and I was able to travel and check out different states across the Western US. After 14 years in the medical field, I am now a regional sales manager, managing a sales team of 14 across 10 states for one of the leading medical technology companies in the industry. I am one of 2 other females in a male dominated device sales industry and I make five times the median California income. I didn’t end up being a famous actress on stage or in film, but I ended up a powerhouse in my own right and more stable an income than acting would have provided long term. Having 3 beautiful children who are well adjusted, kind, generous and overall good products of society is simply the icing on the
