I believe a nurse should always take care of herself/himself, and make sure she/he is doing the best for the patient as well as for herself/himself. I think many nurses don’t take the time to access how they are feeling because they are looking out for the best interest of the patient. Sometimes nurses don’t see that they might not be doing what’s best for the patient because they themselves are suffering or in pain, that is when I think the nurse needs to put their needs before others. I think the patient deserves the best care and if the nurse is struggling or in pain she/he can not give that to them.
