Narrative Essay: If I Was A Forgetful Person?

Decent Essays
I guess you could say I was a forgetful person. Dates flew out of my mind, I could never find anything, and I always managed to forget what I was going to say. It was the most irritating thing in the world, but I had always been like that. Ever since I was five, when my dad died, I couldn’t remember things. I don’t know; it just hurt to think because my mind would always drift to him. Even the most random things, like a dog, somehow morphed into his face. It was okay, though. My imaginary friends helped me remember important things, like what had just happened and important information. Then, I got older. All of those friends left, and it all got worse. No one was there to remind me anymore. In the middle of March, I walked into my high school …show more content…
I had called Amelia to tell her about it on Sunday night. My mom was furious I had brought home a low B on my English essay. She had always put me to high standards, but she had a strange way of going about it. If I didn’t please her, she thought I wasn’t trying hard enough and disrespecting her. Then, it was like a bomb was going off for the next two hours. Amelia was the only one who really knew about those happenings since I had known her since middle school, and she was the one to really make a correlation between my violent changes in mood and my mother’s reprimands. Apparently, I always acted pretty different after …show more content…
Fifty dollars had been taken out of her purse. She put it in there the day before, before she went to bed, and suddenly, it was gone. It had disappeared out of thin air. I didn’t have any siblings, so there was no one to blame but me. I had no memory of it, but seeing as how there was no other explanation, I repaid her in full with money I had been saving and apologized. I’m not sure about anything after that, though. I only started to recall things during the middle of dinner that day, and even then, I was completely out of it, like I wasn’t completely there. I would feel my mouth move and hear myself talk, but it felt like I wasn’t the one speaking. I wasn’t sure what

“Things always have a way of figuring themselves out.” That’s what my dad always would tell me when I was younger which, in a way, relates my life to Jeannette Walls’ in The Glass Castle. He told me that whether or not things had problems over time or in a matter of seconds, they would always figure themselves out. I carry those words with me as a reminder that things for me were really hard at one point, but in the end they figured themselves out. My parents divorced when I was twelve years old, and just headed into 7th grade.…

One of the most difficult things for me is to think back to the exact moment I realized I was suffering from depression. I was 13 and it was early march. I had woken up on Saturday morning, my stomach growling like an angry tiger begging for food, my eyes puffy and red, black streaks running down my cheeks, my throat hoarse and my voice gone from the events that took place the night before. I felt my hair and pictured my mothers’ fingers running through it while stroking my back in order to get me to fall asleep. Throwing my legs off the bed, my purple fuzzy socks touching the cold wooden floor, I picked myself up and walked over to my dresser mirror where I was taken aback to see my thick curly hair sticking up in all directions and the dried up drool crusted on the side of my face along with my red lipstick from the night before smeared all around my lips as if I were a clown. I thought…

Who doesn’t struggle with writing? I know I always have struggled with writing, for the longest time I didn’t even really understand the differences in sentences, and it is something that’s still confuses me a little bit. To be completely honest I sometimes procrastinate longer than I should when it comes to writing, so I don’t always review the finished product the way I should. Life gets in the way occasionally, and I attempt to convince myself that I have plenty of time to finish they assignment. This particularly gave me problems in high school.…

Narrative Essay One tremendously windy Monday morning, the sky shifted gloomy shades of grey above my home in the land of 10,000 lakes: Minnesota. My loathsome alarm yet again woke me with its vexatious sound, as it does Monday through Friday. It took me an unpleasant 30 minutes to get myself out of bed and into the shower. After showering and picking out a nice cozy outfit, I dashed upstairs to grab a quick breakfast before heading to an early choir rehearsal.…
