I Want To Pursue A Career In Cosmetology

Early on in my life I took on leaderships roles and jobs that have led me to believe that I would be a very good strategic manager. It is with these past experiences that I have learned how to set myself apart from others. Currently, I am a professional cosmetologist working for Halo Couture Extension directing the marketing team. Although, I am in my early twenties I have been able to expand a start up company to up-and-coming in the beauty industry. I am very passionate about my current company, but I also have a passion for all the diverse areas of cosmetology. I can see myself as a strategic manager at some point in my career but ultimately I would like to stay in international marketing or management. Those areas do tie into strategic management by maximize revenue and minimizing the cost but, I’d rather market rather then formulating strategies. From heatless curling irons to creams for ageless skin, there are so many areas in the cosmetology field that intrigue my interest. As a younger generation coming into the industry, I can give a fresh outlook on the needs and wants of our consumers. My age is also looked at as a negative and can prevent me from being taken serious by the older elite companies that currently run the beauty industry. From this course I want to learn how I can set myself apart or whichever company I promote for, from other companies. Strategic management’s history can educate me on the issues companies have faced and prepare me for beating out other competitive companies.
