I Want To Pursue A Career In Nursing

In the future, I hope to pursue a career in nursing where I will be able to continue my passion for helping people in vulnerable population. I believe I belong in this field because every since I was young, I have always wanted to make a positive influence in people lives. Being raised by a single mother in a low-income family inspired me to serve people who have suffered hardships that I too have known. I have traveled to Vietnam with my mom several of times to volunteer in the rural areas where people are stricken by poverty. Every day I would see kids as little as five years old on the streets begging for money to support their ailing family members. Whenever I saw someone struggling I always wanted to help, but as a child, there was not much I could do. I knew from this moment that in the future I wanted to become a nurse where I would be able to work in an environment where essential care is needed. …show more content…
My interest in working with a different population led me to become a health advocate in a low-income neighborhood in Tacoma. I was able to assist those who were struggling by cooking meals for people who had no food at home, providing health care, and more. By working within my community and across the globe, I was able to encounter new experiences. I dream of becoming a nurse where I will be able to give back to my opportunity to work in a profession where compassionate connections are
