What draws me to Bates is it’s name. To be blunt, I would have never known about the institution. Not because I didn’t want to, but because no one around me ever mentioned it. Around the same time I started taking an interest to academics I was watching various shows, one being “Bates Motel”. Coincidentally the following month my counselor put up a poster with just the name of the college “Bates”.…
I look forward to learning from my professors the rest of this school…
Hancock College Prep has always been like a second home to me. The school evokes a positive vibe to the staff, teachers, and staff. I love the way my teachers motivate me to do my very best at school every day. My teachers have always pushed me to live up to my full potential and it’s something I appreciate a lot because without them I wouldn’t be able to have an open mindset to new ideas and challenges.…
Oklahoma State University may be categorized under many things. One may be America’s Brightest Orange. Another, a competitive powerhouse in the Big Twelve. Or, maybe, the university is seen as a “modern” land grant institution. As a student as OSU, I feel confident that my education is not only empowering me for a brighter future, but is also extending throughout the state improving lives through research, education, and outreach.…
Earlier today I received a letter in the mail from UNC Wilmington. My parents assembled around me as I opened the letter, from the University that I have habitually desired to attend, only to observe my smile decline as I informed them that my decision had been deferred. Along with the decision letter there was a “Frequently Asked Questions” article stating how I could insure UNC Wilmington that they are my first choice. The paper states, “If UNCW is your first choice, you may send us a letter, or email expressing your interest. We will add this to your file.”…
I am applying to graduate school to explore how best to physically implement computation and how best to pass on what I learn to others. As physical devices get pushed to their limits, new design paradigms have begun to emerge across the spectrum of hardware architectures. This spectrum spans from prominent software-programmable devices, such as many-core CPUs and modern GPUs, to hardware-programmable technologies such as FPGAs. I am fascinated with the design challenges inherent in these and other types of devices and want to contribute to meeting these challenges. My eventual goal is to share what I learn with others, as a professor.…
The decision to attend Marywood was the hardest decision I have had to make, especially because I did it a week before I graduated high school. Since the day I officially decided, I knew I would have to push myself and set goals that had to be met in order to succeed here. These goals went around the ideas of purchasing textbooks, abundances of art supplies that never end, purchasing everything I needed in order to “survive” in my dorm room, and to actually move in. I surpassed these goals and am continuing to, but right now my one goal is to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA for my freshman year here at Marywood because I want to push myself to do well. I want to do this while following the core values of the university because I know that they will make me successful.…
It has been very rewarding. I have met a host of wonderful people. Staff and students combined. The campuses are always nice and clean and the resources are…
College is an important step for a person but a lot of people think that college is not necessary. There are a lot of reasons why people want to go to college and I am sure that everybody's reason is different. I want to go to college because of one main reason and that reason is the opportunities it allows me to have. I want to go to college because after I graduate and get my degree, I will be opened to more opportunities in life. I will be more inclined to have a better life if I go to college rather than just having a high school diploma.…
I might have not visited the school, but I want to be a student at Georgetown University. This has the right college and environment; it's where my journey should begin. Georgetown University is the home that will foster a future for me, perhaps create a legacy. As I never had the best life, I wish to be successful and achieve the goals I intend to fulfill in Georgetown…
Entering Legacy I was unsure what to expect, extremely nerve wrecking entering into a class you are unfamiliar with. All of a sudden I felt like I was in kindergarten again, little did I know my life would be changed forever. Legacy is definitely something I will always cherish and remember for the rest of my life. This school is not an ordinary school, this is a place where you have opportunities to succeed, grow, become that powerful human being. Personally, I noticed there was progress in my work, I was actually learning.…
The things I hope to learn about myself at College of Charleston are all things I believe will only help me in the process of getting ready for my career choice and goals. I will discover how I can be professional and attentive; I will have composure in times of stress; I will be passionate and empathetic while helping others. After college, I aspire to be a doctor since I have felt a deep calling to help others in any way I am able to. College of Charleston's exceptional science program is exactly what I need in order to major in biology, and the ties between College of Charleston and MUSC would provide a great opportunity for me on my career path. I will evolve in the beautifully complex city of Charleston by not being afraid of change but instead reaching out and grasping it, knowing what my career goals are,…
Attending Stockton University is the best way for me to reach my educational, professional, and personal goals. It is a school that is relatively close to home and is located in a smaller community than most other schools that I've heard of. These features were very attractive to me when I was initially looking for colleges to apply to. I feel that the community in and around Stockton University is one that will fit my personality and life style well. I've visited the campus recently and was very impressed with how clean and neat everything was.…
Academically successful students set goals and diligently work to achieve their goals. My goals for college are to complete my management degree in four years with a minor in Spanish while making the dean’s list, studying abroad, and finding internships in the summer. To make the dean’s list I will continue my study habits from high school by reading over material the night before a lecture, taking thorough notes, and completing assignments quickly in preparation for tests and exams. Discovering the best study abroad program for me will take time and research to find a Spanish speaking country where I can also find a highly regarded business school. Internships are key to finding employment promptly after graduation, so I will connect with…
Growing up in a small town, where everyone knows everyone, and everyone are friends, she was use to her daily routine, from going to school with who she hung out with afterwards, she was not ready for change and the thought of it rocked my whole world. I soon had to break out of my shell and begin my new life with my new opportunities. August twenty-second two thousand and sixteen was the beginning of a new chapter in my life. When my alarm clock went off at six that morning, my mind was full of different thoughts and emotions from fear to overwhelming excitement. As my car slowly pulled up to the stop light right before campus, I remember praying, asking God to give me the strength and courage to begin my new life journey, to not underestimate…
