I Want To Be An Asthmunologist

I’m currently a high school senior who is also a first generation college student. My parents unfortunately were unable to have the same opportunity as myself to attend a college, especially one such as Grand Canyon University. One important aspect in regards to my life growing up was having to face numerous obstacles at such a young age. The most significant challenge I endured was that I was born with life threatening allergies, as well as asthma. As a child, I never really thought too much of it and didn’t completely understand not only the severity, but also the effects it would have on myself. Most people don't understand the severity of it, unless they themselves or someone they know has a severe food allergy. I learned that through many various encounters with people who underestimated my peanut allergy until I was completely broken out in hives. This obstacle has shaped me into who I am today because it has allowed me to become a very detailed person who’s on top of everything I do. When I go out, I have to make sure any food I choose to get doesn’t have anything I’m allergic to. This ideology also pertains to my schoolwork, especially because …show more content…
There are many various reasons why I am choosing this as my future profession. I want to specifically specialize in the field of both allergies and asthma. One main reason for this is that not only do I find it interesting, but I also have experienced both of these personally. This motivates me to help others who have faced some of the same challenges I have also faced. I want to be able to help others who suffer from both allergies and asthma because I know how arduous it can be, but if I was able to persevere, then so can they. I have the determination, the passion, the drive, the willpower, and the motivation. I know I am capable of anything I put my mind too and that is why I am going to do everything in my willpower to succeed and be the best that I can
