I Want To Be A Ra Essay

To me a RA is a person who is there for you when you need personal, academic, or social help/advise. This is what I have done this semester at CC. Along with CC staff, I have made Charger Central feel like home to many of the residents. This was my entire reason behind wanting to become a RA in the first place because I ready didn’t know who my RAs was as a freshman. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into at first, but I have grown into loving being a RA just because I know I’m playing a good role in someone’s college experience. Not only has being a Ra played a role in other people college experience, it has helped me transform into a better person and also have taught me a couple of tricks and skills as well. This year I have learned how to be more …show more content…
This gave me a better opportunity to make events that I knew residents would come out to and enjoy. Planning for an event could be challenging sometimes because one might think everything is going to go like this, but you end up with a complete different turn out. Never the less, proper preparation is the answer when it comes to planning for an event. You have to do a request for the event you are planning on hosting before you even have it. This basically give the idea for the program, the reason behind it, and the items that will be needed for the event. The most important thing I got to work on was my team work efforts. As a RA a lot of things you have to do is going to be a team project. This semester I got a chance to be a leader and seat back and be a follower as well. For example, my floor partner and I had to make door decs and bulletin board for this month since school started back, which Spencer just asked what he could do to help get the job done. However, sometime the leader position is switch between us, this is just one example of

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me yesterday. I really enjoyed our conversation and learning some more about Jefferies. It was also great learning more about the Generalist Program, which I believe helps associates to find a group where they will fit the best, without having to decide upfront where they want to be.…

Before starting my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to attend the BB&T Atlanta Open. Watching the players up close and meeting them sent a wave of thrill throughout my body, and I felt an adrenaline rush during each point. Since I made lots of significant memories and enjoyed each moment, I was able to attend the same tournament the year before I started college. While each experience had a similar feel, there were some contrasting qualities, such as who participated in the tournament and where my family and I selected to eat. Since I had attended the BB&T Atlanta the year before, making a list of what to pack was much easier.…

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. Not only will I be able to care for others with a Pharm.…

I made the most of the resources available to me by staying after class if I had a question, discussing topics with the physical therapists at work, and further researching topics that were discussed in the chapter. The only regret I had in this semester is not being a part of a study group. I feel that it could have contributed greatly to my overall…

I am interested in being a Residential assistant because it would give me a chance to mentor other people and get to know them. I enjoy building meaningful relationships and helping people achieve their goals. I would like to be able to guide students through their college experience and encourage them to get involved on campus. Getting involved, especially in the Setters Leadership Program, helped me feel comfortable here at Pace and helped me make new friends. I think I could assist new students with the transition of coming into college and encourage students to work hard while finding their forever friends and making Pace their new home.…

Growing up I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do as a profession. No inclination of something that amazed me or pushed me toward it. I eventually chose what I thought would be a good stable career simply because it would be a financially good choice but it never seemed like something I could stick with or love. I discounted anything from the medical field because everyone was going there and I didn't want to be a lost number of people rushing to the same career, I wanted to be a little different.…

Resident Assistants are one of the first friendly faces students meet when they move in on campus. They are welcoming and kind human beings who are ready to help their residences, or any members of the Suffolk community, at any point of time. Personally, I aspire to become a Resident Assistant for multiple reasons. The first being that I thoroughly enjoy being friendly and kind. Being nice to people is a characteristic that is just instilled within me, which I believe is a good quality to possess while obtaining this position.…

With the new school year starting so does the ARP program. Although the program has only been running for one whole week i find myself remembering much of what has been covered during my time in both the ATP and ARP last year. Primarily looking over the syllabus there is a great deal of overlay in terms of the workshops and expectations. However, regardless of the limited time spent in the program this semester the differences are blatantly obvious primarily to prior knowledge i possess when starting the semester. Of course, not to forget new first for me a classmate freely and openly drinking alcohol during class.…

In developing my personal philosophy of educational leadership I was able to focus on what qualities I already posses to be a successful leader. This semester has been a very difficult, stressful, and challenging for me . High School can not compare the amount of stress I had to face in this fall semester at Hostos Community College. However, it is like that with many other students because making a transition is frightening and many of us find a way to run away from it. Everything in life is a challenge and it is scary as well, but for those who want to study it all starts of with college. It took me more than words to actually realize the reality that I am actually living right at this very moment because, I was not expecting so many things to fall apart, but somehow becoming whole again.…
