Following in the footsteps of my parents, I have known my whole life that I would grow up to be a Physical Therapist. I have watched my three elder sisters flourish and become wonderful people who work in the Air Force and in New York City. The people in my life have inspired me and help me to become who I am and who I will be. I aspire to get a higher education not only for myself but so I can benefit others. The community and people who live with and around me have supported me through great achievements. I am elated to grow up to do meaningful work with amazing people. In the future I strive to be a physical therapist so I can help members of my community who have helped me. I plan on applying to University of Oregon, University of Seattle, …show more content…
I was just starting to look into a career when suddenly my Grandfather passed away after eighteen months in a nursing home. He has suffered a stroke which had left him paralyzed on the right side of his body. My grandfather’s health condition was not unique. He was only one of 130,000 American patients that died in 2015 after suffering a stroke. He had always wanted to see me graduate and get married but now he cannot. His death is one of the largest events in my life because I was influenced by him to become a doctor to help the elderly. I think that they are often overlooked and are not a priority for our society. I believe that by becoming a physical therapist I will be able to work with the elderly and improve their quality of life. Although things may not go exactly as I have planned them to go or I may change careers, I have a general idea of who I want to be. I am excited to finish High School and go on to a college that is nearby allowing me to continue my passion of teaching TaeKwonDo. I also aspire to continue to work hard throughout my life in order to achieve things that better the community as a whole. I believe it is important to not only dream for yourself but for others as
