I Want To Be A DA

Decent Essays
Although a little while back I stated I wanted to be a DA, I have decided rather than going with my head I will follow my heart. I've officially and completely decided to go to college to become a teacher. At one point I did know it was what I wanted to be, but had many cons pointed out to me. After careful consideration I have decided that they don't matter. I'd rather be happy and have a job I love with less pay than a job I don't feel passionate about. Working at the middle school (& at the elementary school next year) has opened my eyes more than ever before about what it means to be a teacher and all of the expectations from parents, students, and supervisors. Unlike some teachers, I don't want to be a teacher to just get the summers off.

Hello there! Last year I left my previous, mostly unrelated profession with the idea that I wanted to pursue a Special Education Teaching Credential. I took a position as an Instruction Assistant in an upper elementary class as I had never been in a Sped class and wanted to spend some time in one to make sure that it was where I wanted to be before I started investing in a credentialing program. Overall, I have loved every day of it thus far.…

Most people change their career decisions multiple times before they actually pick a final job, but I never had an interest in anything other than being a teacher. I have always connected with younger kids over high school or middle school children, which is why I chose to major in Early Childhood Education. I believe that teachers have the ability not only change the world, but improve it. I want to become a teacher because seeing that light bulb go off and seeing the looks on the student’s faces when they get a problem is a great feeling. Many kids are ignored at home or even bullied at home and I want to make all those children feel wanted and to know that someone is there for them and truly does care about them.…
